Do You Have These 4 Values?

    I gave a bit of a history lesson and overview of Toastmasters recently and wanted to expand on their Key Values.  

    Toastmasters values resonate highly with me.  They are great qualities for you to strive for in yourself and your business.


    INTEGRITY

    Integrity is both being honest and ethical while also showing coherence in what you do.

    The thing is...  even if you're on the other side of a computer screen, people still can "see right through you."  If you are marketing toward them and say (in your best radio voice),"HEY, have I got a deal for YOU!!!  Are you interested in an opportunity that won't interfere with your current biz - ground floor opportunity!"

    If you say this before you even say hello, *poof*!  Not even a possibility of creating a relationship with that person.  Ever.  It's like a marriage proposal before the first date.  

    Like this message I received yesterday on Twitter.  LOL  (I just thought it was funny and had to share - who WOULDN'T be speechless at my amazing smile...  LOL)

    But, I digress.

    Someone will know whether you are or are not being genuine in your conversations and whether you actually care.  Whether you have INTEGRITY.  

    If we have no integrity, we have nothing.

    {If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.}

    Everyone is not for you and you are not for everyone.  Know the difference and have "real" connections with those that are the right match.  


    RESPECT

    Respect toward others and yourself is a vital quality to have - if you have a healthy respect for yourself, it will spill over onto others and into your business.  

    As you market in your business, respect time of others.  Be concise and give a clear takeaway in what you are presenting.  

    If someone says "no" - don't keep badgering them - everyone is on their own timeline.  People, on average say "no" until they see your offering for at least 7 times.  60% of people say no four times before they say yes!  

    So, be there, but respect their space.  If your actions reflect this quality, it will be shown back toward you.  Just ask Aretha.  


    SERVICE

    One reason we are put on this earth is for service.  I grew up seeing service on a daily basis from my parents - and sometimes, that was difficult...  seeing them give service to so many others and wanting them more to myself.  But I have had that now instilled in me and can see that through the eyes of an adult...  it was their calling.

    It can make your life worthwhile and draw others toward you.  The more you want to do it, the more you want to...  it can even be a main component in the way you give gifts.    

    In business terms, you should always be giving more than you expect in return.  Maybe even without anticipating anything in return.  When you provide service {quality information, tips, things to help your audience} consistently, your targeted audience will see you as a trustworthy person.  

    Goal:  Know --> Like --> Trust.  


    EXCELLENCE

    There is no point to do anything at all if you do not put forth your best efforts in doing so.  

    It makes me think of a chorus we grew up singing:

    🎶 Don't do a half day's work for the Lord, and expect a full day's pay🎶

    Regardless of whether this is being fully vested in your faith, your relationship, or your business, really strive to be the best you can be.  Utilize all of your resources - the world is literally at your fingertips.  Whatever you don't know how to do, you can find out how to do it, or you can find an expert at this that you may outsource.
