Inspiring Women... 10 Quotes from Helen

Helen Keller was a most remarkable woman.  She began life as a healthy child, but became deaf and blind due to an unknown illness as a toddler.  Growing up, she was a wild and unruly child.

Her life changed at age 7, upon meeting another extraordinary woman - her teacher, Anne Sullivan.  Anne taught Helen discipline while not crushing her spirit, and also taught her sign language.

Helen quickly learned to write, both manually and in raised print - and also learned to speak.  She continued to be very remarkable and was even noticed by Alexander Graham Bell and Mark Twain!  (Twain was even quoted as saying that the two most interesting characters of the 19th century were Napoleon and Helen Keller!)

She continued to college and became a writer, and political and social activist.  Helen was a worldwide celebrity and continued to spread encouragement, even into her late years.

We can gain much from her tenacity, humanitarian activities and positive outlook on life, some of each are seen in the 10 quotes below!
